It would be fun and exciting if everyday brought something amazingly, wonderfully new and exuberant, but life is filled with everyday-ness and it's a shame not to see the everyday-ness as the special and wonderful. Otherwise we are only either looking back (oh, wasn't it wonderful in the day??) or looking forward (life will be good when...).
Sometimes life is only about putting one foot in front of the other, forgetting your own agenda, forgetting the way YOU think life should be and seeing life for what it is. Sometimes it's about letting go of your illusions (again and again and again) and seeing that life as it is, is actually brilliant.
It's so easy to stop the flow life in its steps by forcing our own agenda and forgetting that life is already really pretty perfect. Things change with flow, not with force, and yet it's like we have to learn that particular lesson again and again and again.
Sometimes there's nothing for it but to put one foot in front of the other and simply refuse to force anything. Meditate, chant, take a bath or a hike, do whatever you need to do to let go of the idea that things have to be a certain way and focus on being so present in the moment as to experience your very breath, the molecules in the air around you, the warbling melody of a songbird. Be so present that whatever is going on becomes the most amazing experience because there is so much of it to take in in your very pores. And be grateful for it, grateful that you could experience it, grateful that you could be so blessed to be in this very moment taking it all in.
Sometimes there are no other lessons but to take a deep breath and recap. You KNOW this. Now stop, take a deep breath and do it.
Blessings and love,
