To Be Loved

It could be the single greatest effort we make in life is to be loved. And yet, and yet - we are loved already, aren't we? It's an interesting investigation into human spirit because you can see in the quest of every individual is the desire to be loved.

We bend, we twist, we jump through hoops, we contort ourselves, and paint ourselves and dress ourselves up, we emulate and act out, and all sorts of other things (millions of them!) all just to be loved.

Is there really a need to produce an effort to be loved though?

The biggest effort we need to be doing in life is not dressing up or acting out, but getting ourselves to recognize that we ARE loved, and that when we are authentic, genuine and sincere, that we are more able to relax in Who We Really Are and actually feel that we are loved. If only we spent as much time on this as we do on primping and preening ourselves!

If only we just believed that we were loved. We could let go of all that pain when we thought we weren't loved, we could let go of all that hype of trying to be loved, we could just recognize how much love there is out there in the world, And no, maybe it doesn't look like we expect it to look, but love it there. And the more we hold out on it, the more we refuse to see it, the more pain we experience and how painful is that??!!

To be loved is perhaps far more about accepting that we are loved rather than striving for and soliciting love from others through our behavior, looks and actions.

Something to meditate on.

Blessings.
