"The great affair, the love
affair with life, is to live as variously as possible..."
Much of life is spent in "thrill-seeking." Not thrill-seeking in the sense of dangerous events that seriously threaten our existence, but thrill seeking in the form of activities that make us feel like we are alive. We get passionate about movies and movie stars, music and musicians, heroic acts, because these things tingle inside.
When we witness greatness in others it is a heartthrob for our very own greatness. That tingle is a reminder - a reminder of our own greatness, just chomping at the bit and waiting (as patiently as possible) for you to drop your fears and live vicariously. To live so that when you die you don't find you had not lived.
Everyday we are given so many nudges, so many glimpses, so many opportunities to live the greatness that is within us by being Who We Really Are. And everyday, in every moment it's a choice whether we do or don't. It's not about living dangerously, it's about living greatness. It's not about hiding yourself away behind life's mundane chores and routines, it's about living greatness. Somewhere in between is a fine balance - and ours is the opportunity to find it.
Blessings.
