What We Leave Behind

Do you think when you walk away of what you've left behind? Should you have made the bed, or stripped the sheets, should you have spoken more kindly, expressed more, done a little something to help out? Should you have written a letter, said "I love you" more often, or reached out at all?

We leave behind us the footprints; and in the knowledge itself that these remnants are left behind us telling our story clearly and concisely, we are given the impetus to recognize what an impact we make upon the planet, upon our fellow human beings.

We move through this life as if everything were just about our own steps, what we're doing now, what we're going to do next...and all along the way we pass by others, touch others, process with others, and in the wake of our own steps, we leave others behind unseen and unheard.

What we leave behind is how we have interacted with life in each moment, and life carries the reminder of our every interaction. Better to look back and see footprint laden with the joy of consciousness, rather than a trail of trash and destruction - and that's a choice.

Blessings.
