There was a time in not so long ago human history, when we remembered to treat each other with respect. We would not scorn or scoff at another’s weakness, because we knew that in our scorn and scoffing others would see our own weakness. We would not belittle others for that same reason.
There was a time in not so long ago human history where we didn’t negate another person’s value in the way it is done today. We didn’t put down another person for their accomplishments as is so common today. We didn’t blame others for our own personal problems, as such a lot of people seem to do today.
Yes, indeed, there was a time in not so long ago human history, when doing things like that only made others see through our own frail, invisible walls to the weaknesses we harbored, and it recruited their prayers for our strength.
I would like to see human dignity restored. When you “see the other person is you,” some human dignity is restored. When you stop blaming and you are willing to recognize that you alone are responsible for the positive outcome of your life and that it has nothing to do with anything outside of yourself, some human dignity is restored. When you stop putting down other people because of your fears, some human dignity is restored. When you start honoring each person for the unique part of the present they are, some human dignity is restored.
There was a time in not so long ago human history when it wasn’t uncommon to cultivate deep respect, courtesy and consciousness in our dealing with our fellow human beings. I would like to see that human dignity restored.
Blessings.
