I heard this very beautiful piece by Marianne Williamson and wanted to share it with you...
“The only spirit that really exists is God’s spirit. And God’s spirit does not include a spirit of weariness. We are all weary of being who we have been longer than the time at which it is appropriate to remain who we used to be. Weariness means you’re hanging on to something, it’s time to let go. Weariness means you’ve been in this room too long, in this situation too long. Weariness means you’re hanging on to something and it is time to be reborn into something new.
This is not a time for you to hang out in the regions of weariness, this is the time for you to drop the vestiges of your former self that you no longer need. This is the time to shed an old skin and to grow a new one. That is what we are doing, that is what we are doing as individuals, and that is what we are doing as a species.
Of course you’re weary of being who you used to be, it’s over. You’re weary of that neurotic pattern, you’re weary of that complaining, you’re weary of whining, you’re weary of doing the same thing over and over again, you’re weary of being the same person. All that that means is it’s time for something new. Be today who you were not yesterday, that you shall be tomorrow, who you were born to be. Be born into someone new, be born into new things. This is a time of new beginnings.
There’s an old world that’s falling apart all around us, not only collectively but also individually. Let die what needs to die, let be born now what needs to be born, what is asking to be born. If you get involved and when you get involved in this new impulse of rebirth and restoration and revitalization that is in our midst, step into that and you will not be weary, you will not be tired. And all things will be miracles. ”
