Love is Overdue

In the face of all aridity and disenchantment, amidst however we are struggling in life, the one sure thing to bring ourselves back to the equilibrium we crave is love.

Love is overdue. We are too unkind to ourselves. We have expectations that we can do everything alone (that villages used to do together), that we can do more, more, more, more (because if we don't we won't keep up with everyone else, or perhaps just the 'Jones'), that we can live through the mental abuse we subject ourselves to, when we push ourselves beyond anything that is normal.

Instead of expecting world wonders and constantly putting ourselves down for not accomplishing them, how about some love for all we do accomplish? Instead of beating ourselves up for not having perfectly airbrushed super model bodies, how about appreciating everywhere our bodies have taken us in this life. Instead of complaining about how the excesses we subject ourselves to hurt, how about remembering every thing our bodies have allowed us to do and create and enjoy and appreciate in this life?

Honestly, Love is WAYYYYYY overdue. If you were your own best friend, you would surely counsel temperance, kindness, being good to yourself, getting enough sleep, eating right, fresh air and movement, laughter, joyous events. Wouldn't you?

So, why can't you be your own best friend? No excuses. Start today and whenever you think of something negative about yourself, your looks, your body, or some other aspect of yourself, be the best friend and find the love, show some love, be kind instead.

Blessings.
