In life you have to ask for what you want. It's just no good hemming and hawing your way around it; it's useless to make broadvaguely related hints; you can't talk around it; you just need to ask for what you want.
Dancing around in the middle of the room, making irritating noises, or speaking loudly in the proximity of that person is not asking for what you want. If you want to have a conversation with someone, look them in the eye and say, "I'd like to talk." If you want to sit down with someone, ask them to sit down with you. If you need attention, ask for the attention you need.
And the same goes for the Universe. If you would be pleased to have a partner to have adventures with, cook delicious meals and eat together with, do x-y-z with - ask for that specifically instead of just saying, "I really want a girlfriend," or "I really want to get married." You could end up with anything with broad statements like that, and chances are, if you were inconcise in the past, you have!
So give it a go. Start really small, but take that chance and ask for exactly what you want. It might not always come in the way you expect it to, but chances are, it will come.
