Dare to Care

We come into these lives dropped into painful learning situations; it is no wonder that we shut ourselves up, lock up our hearts, and hide behind animosity, defensiveness, and fear.

But where is the quality of existence without the courage to care, to love, to show our deepest selves to the world, and to shine in that presentation?

The bittnerness behind the unhealthy and unhelpful patterns of self-preservation is so very painful, and it's a choice. Bitterness, like resentment, like anger, is "like swallowing poison and waiting for the other person to suffer." Running around angry, upset, moody, or emotional is like telling everyone in the vicinity it's their fault you feel the way you do. Where's that at?

When we can get to the place where we can dare to care, we move beyond ourselves and into the place of service. It's not about "me" and "what can I get out of it," it's about how your participation in the world is going to leave a mark in some way on the lives of those around you and it's going to be good, because you care that it's good.

Take your courage in your hands and release the pain, the anger, the fear that you've been holding there. Your service to the world will become the shield that protects you and you give yourself the opportunity to shine the light of your soul and show how amazing you really are.

Blessings.
