Sometimes life calls us to just put one foot in front of the other and quit worrying about everything else. Well, actually, life ALWAYS calls us to do that, if only we could! Thinking is, granted, an important part of life, but experience doesn't really require thinking, only processing does.
It is really nice to give yourself a break from thinking. To really experience life, allow yourself the opportunity - at least occasionally - to let go of the millions of thoughts. Here are some ideas:
- meditate
- breath walk (breathing patterns mixed with walking steps)
- mantra
- conscious breathing patterns for 3-11 minutes
- dance
- exercise
We need this every day. Life is busy, our minds are constantly working, and constantly being overloaded (I saw a study once that found that the average American has seen 1700 images by the time he/she arrives at work in the morning!). The constant barrage of input is disheveling to the nervous system. By bringing yourself to that state of experience, even for just a few minutes a day, you counteract that admirably.
Blessings.
