We seek love, we seek joy, we seek, we seek, we seek; and yet all the time we have removed ourselves completely from love and joy, for they are not where we seek, but where we are.
We seek God outside of ourselves - in the actions of others, in the ways of the world, in whether or not our prayers are answered as we expect them to be answered; when all the time God is within, and God is every answer.
We seek all the exuberance of life - it will be at this party, at that event, during the moment to come, when this or that happens; and yet life is what happens when we are busy seeking, seeking, seeking.
It happens without us. Just as the love and the joy and the euphoric experience of God, the exuberance of life happens without us when we are busy seeking it elsewhere than in the moment. There is that saying, Life is what happens when we are busy making plans, and it is quite true, we become so busy with trying to reach something else, that we have eluded every ounce, every blessing of life already here.
Well you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking, running around to come up behind you again. Don't run anymore. Forget your plans. Breathe deeply, and know that love is here now, joy is here now, life is here now, God is here now, know that you dwell in them already. Each moment is time for a celebration.
Blessings.
