Taking Things for Granted

We simply can't take things for granted - like the expectation that someone will know us simply because we act, speak or do as we do. We can't take for granted that people we care about know that we care about them. We can't take for granted that those we love will be around next year, next week, tomorrow. We can't take it for granted that things will change, unless we, ourselves are willing to change first.

But there are some things we can take for granted. We can take for granted that we have a right to be happy. We can take for granted that it is our privilege and our right to bask fully in the moment. We can take it for granted that we each have our own personal mission to fulfill during out lifetime, no matter what that destiny is.

There is so much we would take for granted by not recognizing that this moment is very, very precious in an of itself. Breathe in deeply, savor it, love it, and share it with the rest of the world. Remember that the only thing you can take for granted is your right to be happy and live a fulfilled life. Everything else - everything that involves interaction with anyone or anything is simply not something that we can take for granted.

Blessings.
