An old, old friend asked: what is all the hype about a spiritual path? No hype. All that spirituality and religion are about is the evolution of consciousness.
We are given a series of technologies and these technologies automatically transport us. Whether it is the mala of eastern religions or the rosary of western religions, the technologies are often eerily similar; and, if done properly, will lead you to state of heightened awareness and consciousness.
Each path, each religion is centered around a set of these technologies, yet the consciousness that evolves is the same throughout, regardless of how different the dogma of the individual spiritual path or religion may look. Consciousness is consciousness.
What evolves from the piety and practice of the technology of a spiritual path or religion is the consciousness that we are, indeed, all one; that our neighbors are as we are; and that to do unto another is to do unto oneself. Consciousness entails the release of judgment, perfect presence, and brings about an almost superhuman contentment or happiness; and it's the technology (and not the dogma) that's so important for this very reason!
There's no hype, but there is something to be said for the state of consciousness as it develops. It is like a warm blanket on a cold night. It's like crystalline vision. It's like goodness, love, and ease. In a world where we are bombarded with a gazillion pieces of information, where stress and tension are the norm, where there is very little peace, these are welcome indeed.
Blessings.
