The principle of a strait jacket (not that I've ever worn one this life time) is that the more you struggle, the tighter the constraints become. At some point you will have struggled yourself into the inability to move even one more inch. It is only when you give up the struggle and relax that it becomes bearable. And the straitjacket is an excellent analogy for life. The more you struggle in life, the more is constrains you and it is only when you give up that struggle and relax that life becomes bearable.
The times are challenging. All around there is such disarray, so much power struggle, so much greed, so much of all the negativity that is needed to propel the planet to its next incarnation, and it can be difficult to witness, much less handle. But the more we sturggle against it, the tighter the constraints become until we can't move.
Life offers us these amazing opportunities for reflection. Crazy though that sounds, it is exactly what's needed. You give up the struggle, you find the place of peace inside, you neutralize your response to it all, and in that healing process you can garner the incredible insight and lesson in what's going on and how it pertains to you.
Strait jackets are not fun, not in real life, not in analogy. That feeling of not being able to move is crippling. And yet, how amazing is it that the liberating factor is your stillness! You can choose each day to find a place of neutrality and non reaction. You can choose to give up the struggle and relax into life. You can choose. And that is a powerful gift.
Blessings.
