Letting Go of the Struggle

It's not about not achieving things in life, or not working hard, or any of the important values of a life well lived, but we do have to learn to give up the struggle.

Struggle entails the euphoric, but short-lived, buzz of adrenalin. When we're pushing harder than normal, when we're jumping through hoops to make life into some picture perfect imagining we have, when we're living in angst and fear, when we're worried and anxious, all these things describe struggle, and the struggle itself has become almost addictive.

There is no need for struggle, what's meant to be flows easily, and please note that "flows easily" does not exclude hard work. Flows easily does, however, exclude fanaticism (i.e. workaholic tendencies), force (i.e. you can't put a square peg in a round hole), and fear of survival (i.e. I have to struggle this hard or I will die.)

Letting go of the struggle requires that we learn to trust the universe and that we learn to see "What Is" as the absolute best and most beautiful thing in the world. In fact, the higher we want to climb in life, the more necessary it is to give up the struggle. A tense and harried, struggling climber is a hazard, whereas a climber who is alert and yet relaxed in his/her body is bound to make it in due time.

So, have a look at your tendencies. Are you struggling to make it? Are you struggling to get stuff done? Are you struggling to survive? and then ask yourself - are you addicted to the struggle and are you willing to let go of that addiction.

Life hurls down upon us lesson after lesson after lesson so that we might learn, expand consciousness and awareness, progress, and grow, but these lessons become much more palatable once we drop the struggle.

It's definitely worth a try.

Blessings.
