No other place to be

When we travel
into the past
there is too much of the present
to see it clearly
and by that same token
to clearly see the present
it is absolutely imperative
to let go of the past
and to see the future
we have to be
present long enough
that we can look back on it
There is no other way
all of life
culminates in this moment
and there is no other place
to be
but here.
