Master Life With Humility
If there comes a point in doing something when you think - ahhh, I am the master of this or that or the other - you have found yourself in Shakti Pad. Shakti pad is the place on any path where the student forgets that s/he is a student.
True enlightenment, the mastery of life, is like the mastery of anything else - it is packed full of humility till it overflows. Because the enlightened student knows God's greatness and knows that until we really merge, we are only a speck in that greatness.
Humility is so vastly important because it keeps us in our place. It reminds us that we aren't an incarnation of God, but that we contain God in our being. It reminds us that we can't take our knowledge for granted. It reminds us that there is no limit to the vast goodness of God and that are no match for that.
It is a good thing to study, to learn, to use all of life's lessons as wonderful tools for learning; it is good to become good at what we do and to immerse ourselves in it. But learning humility is of equal value simply because we are all students and students need to remember that there is always more to learn.
This is the secret to being the most incredibly powerful human being we can be - remembering there is always something more that we don't know, always some learning curve available for us to grow and learn from.
When you hear the pruning and prowling nature of the learned one, preening him/herself on how wise and great and wonderful they are, just know they have a long way to go and use it to recognize that we all do. Go out in the world, master life, and with it, master humility.
Blessings.
