That Special Part of You

Each of us, we spend our lives hoping, praying, dreaming of someone who will recognize that one piece of beauty in us, that special thing about us that makes us unique and beautiful and special. All the begging and pleading with parents and family, all the lovers and the friends, all the mentors and the teachers, all the colleagues and the bosses, in all of these we seek only to be acknowledged for Who We Really Are.

And yet as we seek this acknowledgement, in that moment we are in the place of doubt, we have separated ourselves from the reality of Who We Really Are. Begging for outside confirmation of something that shines from within we become separated from that part of ourselves.

What we seek is the unity with that part of ourselves and it comes not from the family and the friends and the lovers and the teachers, it comes solely from within. When we touch that part of ourselves that is our deepest beauty... when we touch it with reverence, and look upon it with the awe we might feel at a diamond, or a sunset, or the grand canyon, or a perfect rose in the morning dew... when we listen to it with our hearts and souls... when we sit with it and feel it it until it envelopes our every cell... that is when we become one with it. That is when the beauty of Who We Really Are no longer waits on a painter to come and capture it, that it when it exudes from our very pores, our skin, our entire being shimmers in its beauty.

Don't wait. Don't spend your life waiting for someone else to see that special part of you. Acknowledge it yourself. Cultivate a deep and personal relationship with it yourself. Learn to love and admire it yourself. Then merge with it until you can't be anything but Who You Really Are.

Blessings.
