What We Are Entitled To

Somehow the night comes and the day closes and we are left with hearts light or heavy- wondering either "did I give as much as I could?", or "did I get what I was entitled to?". This is the question we must ask ourselves day after day - and it can only ever be one or the other, there is never room for both.

Self - entitlement is an illusion of the ego, a little trick of the beliefs, making us think we deserve something, that something should be ours, when obviously it isn't.

Is life not the gift enough? All the opportunities for growth life has to offer us and we want bigger? better? more? Are we not blessed each day with beauty and amazing experiences that give us so much food for thought and reflection? Is not every answer available to us, should we seek it? Is not almost anything possible for us if we will but allow our passion to enfold us, embrace us and carry us through blood, sweat and tears to successful completion? Is not the successful completion of the soul the experience of God Union while still bound to human bodies?

If you feel you are entitled, ask yourself "why?" Were the gifts of the experience not enough? The more important question might be: have I done anything outstanding today? Have I gone beyond myself and my ego today to be there for someone else? Have I given as much as I could? Have I served? Have I lived in my greatness?

Life. Wow. Life is an amazing gift - we could not be more blessed. We are not entitled to anything more than the culmination of our experiences and what we make out of them. The question is: what will you make out of them?

Blessings.
