What is it you want in life? And what do you do everyday to get it?

Hope is kept alive by positive action and hope is imperative to a good life. Hopelessness is like a dark abyss you can’t pull yourself out of, but taking action is like a ladder. It empowers you. It gives you the knowledge that you can change something in your life. It allows you to believe you can have a dream and manifest it too.

Day-to-day life can be full of situations which are less than satisfying, which don’t employ your passion, which leave you feeling drained and empty. By understanding the process of change you can take the steps necessary to change it into a life that is satisfying, where your passion is what guides you and where you are empowered, energized and fulfilled. Thinking about it is important, but it isn’t enough. The thought process is the vital start – it gives you truth and clarity about the situations in your life. And then you need participate in the process of claiming your birthright to be happy and fulfilled by taking responsibility, being present and taking appropriate action on it.

Do you believe it is your birthright to be happy? And if you do, are you willing to pursue happiness as your birthright by making the changes you need to make to be happy? Are you willing to come to the place where you can recognize that it is your own choices and actions which have brought you to where you are? Are you willing to make peace with the present so that you are empowered to experience it? Taking action is the step that introduces into your life habits and behaviors which offer the experience of happiness. Now it is time to create the plan of action to bring to your life the changes you would like.

And yet – this plan of action will not look like what you might expect. It is not about goals and mile markers and task lists in the traditional sense. It is not so much about starting anything at all, but rather it is about learning to recognize old behaviors that pop up and that hold you back from the experience of happiness, and put a stop to them by changing your behavior.

Anytime we allow ourselves to fall into patterns of old response systems, anytime we allow our beliefs to go unchallenged, anytime we fail to take action against these destructive and negating energies in our lives, we are stopping the process of change, we are holding ourselves back. This plan of action is all about learning to recognize when things like anger, resentment, blame, complaining, resistance or fear pop up and how to take action to rectify the situation yourself. Anytime we are willing to do whatever it takes to not fall into these old patterns, we are enabling ourselves in the process of change.

What fuels change is the answer to the question - what is it you want, and what do you do everyday to get it.

Blessings.
