What would happen if you suddenly realized that love is not all about giving, that being able to receive is as critical a component as what you have to give? It is so. We often get caught up so much in everything we do, we give, we offer, but one of love's greatest moments is when it is received.
On the one hand, we must learn to serve. On the other, we must learn to open our arms, gratefully accept the gifts we are given and to say, 'Thank you.'
It's not always about you and what you can give; sometimes it's not about you at all. Love is selfless, boundless, limitless. There are no barriers, there is no separation. Love simply is. Ours is embrace it, cherish it, accept it into our pores and watch as it multiplies itself exponentially.
We create those barriers when we demand that it is about us, when we protect ourselves from accepting anything in by any means, and that includes by giving. Any action that becomes a safeguard against experiencing love is an addiction. We are a society addicted to giving on a superficial level, when our very souls are crying out for the deepest connection of human spirit.
To hide behind the guise of being the biggest giver between people is to smush love to a pulp. Who needs pulp? Love is so much sweeter.
Blessings.
