Reaching for Truth

There are some who would argue that truth is always evident and it's an interesting point of view. It says that whatever exists, exists because it is true. It's funny how we often think things aren't visible, or we even go so far as to argue with what is visible - how many people have you seen addicted to some negative behavior claiming they are "happy," how many other ways are we in pain, claiming that things are "great"?

There is an element of alignment in life and when that alignment is out, it shows. We are in some way unaligned, and unhappy and that truth is evident when we look around and assess the situations in our lives.

I once spent time around a spiritual teacher and I personally thought that many who were closest to him, were the most broken people I'd ever encountered. But then someone explained that this is what spiritual teachers do - they bring up all this stuff that's out of alignment in an accelerated manner, so the students can deal with it.

Life is like this for all of us. A spiritual teacher might make those things happen faster, or might help us become aware of them, but in essence, these bits and pieces of truth are around us, speaking to us all the time. The elements of our lives are showing us the truth like pieces to a puzzle or answers to a riddle. Ours is simply to figure it out.

And here's the tough part - to figure it out - you have to be willing to tell the truth. It's no good being out of alignment and wanting to believe that everything is fine. You have to be willing to look at the out of alignment and see it for what it is - a signal that truth is hidden underneath a pile of junk and yours is the task of getting rid of the junk.

But for all that, it is a worthy effort. Getting rid of the junk clears the air, clears the body, lightens loads and feels so good, it'll almost make you giddy. What is underneath - that truth - that makes you feel good in such a way that it's almost indescribable, it is the quintessential core of happiness.

Did I just say happiness? Yes. Your birthright is there, hidden in truth. Go for it. Reach for your happiness by reaching for truth.

Blessings.
