Of Horses and Of Water

It is astonishingly painful, but the old adage is really true. No matter how many horses you drag willingly or otherwise to the water, rather than drink they would rather die slow sorrowful deaths - and being dead whilst alive must certainly be the cruelest torture we can endure.

Life is hard - so many of us come into this world under such challenging circumstances - and yet those circumstances are nothing compared to what we do with them and what we make out of ourselves. Life is full of rain showers and lightening and blizzards and other catastrophes - do we just climb under a rock and disappear?

It is so painfully sad to see those you love and those you care about dig their feet into the sand and refuse to be brought to the water's edge, or to allow themselves to be brought, but then refuse to drink - for fear - that life will be different once they exert themselves.

You can coach, and teach, and offer friendship, and help, but unless it is accepted, the person you coached or taught or befriended is really on their own to help themselves. And you have to learn to be the silent observer, rather than feel that pain for someone else. God Bless us all, we all have our horse-and-water moments to contend with and because we are human we live around others contending with their own horse-and-water situations. Empathize, be continually compassionate, hold them in your prayers and your positive projection, but it's their pain, not yours.

Blessings.
