Smile, even when you don't want to. Help others, even when you don't want to. Move, even when you don't want to. Rest, even when you don't want to. Eat healthy, even when you don't want to. Speak uplifting words, even when you don't want to. Read uplifting words of wisdom and inspiration, even when you don't want to. Be kind, even when you are tired and don't want to.
There must always be balance. Taking care of yourself is vital in today's frenetic energy. Doing good things, choosing good things for yourself shifts your energy and elevates you. Your body needs it, your mind needs it, your spirit most assuredly needs it.
By doing positive things, even when we don't want to do them, we can start shifting out the negative, "bad" habits in our lives, to allow room for the positive. Loads lighten, life feels so much better.
It takes about 40 days (almost 6 weeks) to change bad habits into good ones, or to establish new good habits. It's spring. For a renewal effort, try goodness for 40 days - even if you don't want to - and watch in wonder how beauty unfolds around you.
The smallest things make a difference...smiling to one person, eating one good meal a day, doing one random act of kindness a day... And above all, love yourself, even when you don't want to. You will come around to the fact that you deserve it.
