The Answer Lies Within

Life happen and in its own way, life can seem like alot. Just look at it - endless lists of things to do, work to go to, personal goals to accomplish, even just the mundane never ends, food to cook, dishes to clean, clothes to wash, dry and put away, animals to feed, floors to vacuum, shelves to dust...and that's just the short list.

Life often seems...hard, frustrating, irritating, painful. And we think - Oh, if only I had...such and such, everything would be easier, better, not like this. If only, if only, if only. But the answer to what is going on and how the flow of things happen does not lie outside of ourselves, it lies within.

When we are in sync, flowing, at ease with it all, life isn't hard, frustrating, irritating or painful. It is our resistance to it that makes it so hard and painful - if only it were otherwise we are saying in our subconscious (or our conscious) mind, and that if only is doing a whole line up of different things to us:
1) it creates resistance
2) it opens the door to anger
3) it creates resentment
4) it leads to judgment
5) we become fearful, complaining and blaming
and all of these things create the subsequent pain we feel when we are doing all the things we have to do anyway, that we could have done without all the pain at all.

You can go about life with a great deal of resistance and be thoroughly wiped out by the consequence of that resistance, yet you still have to do the same things. You can stress out about all the things you have to do, or you can do them without the stress and feel much, much better.

We tend to think that outside resources will make things better - if only I was married or had a partner, if only I had more money, if only I had a better job, if only I lived somewhere else, if only...if only...if only.

Change comes from within and most often change in a situation comes from a change in perspective. If only we are willing to look within at our own patterns of thinking and our own patterns of operation, and make a change there, resistance dries up, there is nothing to be angry or resentful about, we stop judging everything. We get the same number of things done (even more!) with much more ease, in a much happier state of mind and more efficiently because we are not wasiting our energy on resistance. By recognizing that it is up to us, we no longer seek in the outside what is within our power to change from the inside.

Another choice. choose well.
