In doing one of those routine jobs, where the mind takes off, I turned my iPod onto shuffle. When a Pink Floyd song came on, all of a sudden there was a tidal wave of feelings, memories, experiences that rushed through. I could remember with excitement a time when I recognized that God lived in our every cell, and how that very experience was a catalyst for every other experience I have had since.
Often times we are attached to music, or books, or people or religions even, for just this reason - because they remind us of something we experienced, something that was important for us, something that signifies some important time, thought process, or evolution of spirit.
But these flights into realms past are not a reason for attachment. attachment keeps us chained in a past we no longer live. Those moments better serve to remind us that we are constantly evolving and changing. They better serve to remind us what an incredible and unmistakable imprint each and experience has on our lives. Every person we have loved, - or - even every person we have touched, or passed on the road. Every person who has touched us in some way. Every experience leaves it's imprint on our spirits, our very souls, just like a handprint held forever in cement.
This goes for every positive as well as every negative interaction. That's why spiritual teachers are forever telling us to be in the company of holy, speak uplifted words, seek uplifted individuals; that's why they are forever telling us to give up lower energy activities. These imprints are unmistakable - and they are everlasting. We just don't know it while things are going on, but vibratory frequency is everything, absolutely everything.
That's why every moment counts so much - in each breath, you are leaving an unmistakable imprint on your life and well as the lives of those around you.
Breathe deep. Suck in life with your every cell. Exhale. Breathe in each moment and live fully; live in the present. The beauty of this very moment is that it is leaving a deep and entirely unmistakable imprint on the rest of your life. Live well.
Blessings.
