No Whining/No Complaints Allowed

Nope - that' right, no whining allowed. And no complaining either. For the most part, the reason whining and complaining aren't allowed is because everything is what it is, and it will stay the way it is until it is something different.

Both whining and complaining are a waste of energy - because nothing happens. There is no relief through complaining or whining, nothing changes. And with so much energy going into reiteration of all that is negative, that's not so astounding.

In the complaint free world movement, the idea is to get through 21 days without uttering a complaint. That is a real challenge. But the most fascinating thing about the challenge is where it takes you. If you can't complain, what can you do? If you can't whine, what can you do?

You can take positive, constructive action to change the situation. I personally think the bigger problem is that it isn't always easy to see what change is possible. But any change at all is what stats the ball rolling and this is super important to remember.

For me, finding time to exercise next to the demands of a high powered job and a family is next to impossible. But complaining doesn't help, finding solutions does. What I've found is that I need to change my expectations of the outcome, in order to shift out of the feeling of stuckness and impossibility. So,ok, there aren't 30 minutes, there are 10 minutes. Surely 10 minutes have their own value! Yes, the brain wants to start arguing here - well, but it doesn't have as much value as 30 minutes, and the body needs a minimum of X-amount of minutes to do x-wonderful things, and blah, blah, blah. But is that the point? No. The point is to start moving. In that movement, the energy can shift. That is the point, that is the important part of not whining and not complaining - creating room for change, for a shift in consciousness.

The beauty of the complaint free world movement is that you can't complain, you have to take action, and in taking action, you are taking responsibility for yourself, your life and your own happiness and contentment in life. If something doesn't work, you change it, rather than complain about it - and that is an amazing thing.

So try it - go for the no whining/no complaints allowed challenge. Every time you want to open your mouth and start whining or complaining, don't. Figure out what you can do about it, and then do it. It is an amazing and transformational experience. I promise.

Blessings.
