To decide or not to decide

To sit in a place of indecision is a difficult place to sit; it's like not being on one side of the fence or the other, but sitting on the little spikes at the top - uncomfortable and, at times, downright painful. It takes alot of effort to stay in a place that's painful. So why do we do it?

It has been said that if you have to ask, you are not in a place of truth with yourself. To know beyond knowing is a place of balance, equilibrium, grace, love. To question is to come from the place of fear. What are you afraid of? Marianne Williamson wrote, "There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you." That's what indecision is; you are diminishing your own power of being, so that others around you won't think this or think that. You are being careful, so as not to rock the boat, but you end up sinking in the harbor. You are being afraid to be Who You Really Are.

Forget it. You have to know your own mind. You have to know your own heart. And even more importantly, you have to act from the place of heart. If you are forever holding back, afraid of making a mistake, you will miss the bus. Only think how many times you could have, but you didn't... how many times you wanted to, but you let indecision hold you back. You have to be Who You Really Are. Anything else is a life half lived - a terrible waste of the beauty of your being.

Step up today. Stop asking yourself questions that you already know the answer to. Seek the silence within and answer them. Don't wait. Life is today, now, not later. Make a decision to make decisions, to immerse yourself fully in the water of life. Flail if you must, but get in the water. Step up to life and live. Life is calling. Risk making a mistake, but don't hang back in the shadows out of fear. Reach into your heart and make a decision.

Blessings.
