We come into these lifetimes, with distinct classifications, and we want to think they are important; it is important our religion, our gender, our nationality, our profession. But we are given those classifications, those distinctive qualities, solely as a reminder, that it is only the soul which matters.
The soul knows no distinctions, no classifications, and certainly no separation based on any of the criteria described. The soul knows only oneness, and this is our chance in life - - we can wade in the shallow waters of external distinctions, or we can immerse ourselves in the endlessly profound depths of the soul and know that there are really no distinctions between one and the other.
This is our only chance. The classifications, the tags, the names for everything belie the oneness, and impress upon us the illusion of separation. And the illusion of separation is so powerful that it feeds only fear. The classifications and the tags become a scapegoat for the insecurity... and then there is war, greed, avarice, corruption.... All easily avoidable if we were to only remove the tags. What you are is not important, it is what you do, what mark you leave on the world that matters so much more than the many ways there are of classifying your person.
Separation is an illusion. A life spent worrying about tags, about classifications, about distinctions, is a life where the soul is left barren and alone., aching and yearning for Oneness, never recognizing that it was there all the time.
And like everything else, this, too, is a choice. We can choose to go bonkers over tags and classifications, or we can choose to nurture the soul.
As always, choose wisely.
Blessings
