In darkness there is light, around the corner to every adversity is the strength garnered in surviving it. It is manure which nurtures the earth that grows our food.
It is our judgment which is our curse. If only we accepted it all with grace, dignity and willingness, our perceptions could not color it to create such pain from resistance, anger and fear. There is more to life than this resistance!
Tension can be quelled by the use of breath. Pain can be lessened by applying breath to release the tension and dropping the fear. Take the arms that hugged fear and hug love instead. Your anger is useless - a tool for degenerative cell structure, a mock doorman to the door of your heart, fearing that you might feel pain, when behind that door so much more pain is being held captive instead.
In darkness there is light. If you can see the anger, you can release it. If you can find the fear, you can drop it. If you can feel the resistance, you can stop it. Darkness is the time when the attention focuses inward because the other senses are no longer tantalized by the light. Darkness shows us the inner world we are afraid of, and it frees us when we are willing to look at the light inside.
Yes, it takes courage. We fear we'll be swallowed by the darkness itself. But once you drop the fear, there is only the experience itself and it offers freedom as a premium. For that freedom it's gotta be worth it to find the courage.
Blessings.
