Taking Right Action

All the good intentions in the world, all the business plans, strategic plans, obsessive thoughts, visions and ideas - none of them are anything without the critical component of action.

And yet action pulls and tugs on every fear in any and every place inside. Action would put it all to the test and that's scary. What if it doesn't work? What if I fail? What if it turns out to be a stupid idea? What if it turns out super successful and someone steals it? What if....

There is so much fear involved in getting started that we don't. We simply don't start. We play video games, or computer games, drink or take drugs, watch tv, clean compulsively, whatever it takes - we find a million other things to occupy our time and our minds, thus relieving us of doing it. All for the sake of fear.

Right action is to take possibility into your hands and risk it. Great masters always say that they didn't get where they were from building or creating the perfect thing the first time.

There is no such thing as fearlessness, there is only courage to deal with the fear as it arises. Be willing to shut off the game, the desire to run and hide, the excuses. Be willing to allow the feelings - and the fear - to rise up to the top and shoot out of you. Get them out! And then - take action.

What if you never tried and would have worked? What if you had never tried and it wouldn't have failed? What if you had never tried and it would have turned out to be a GREAT idea?

Right action is about staying in alignment with the actions you know are necessary to reach whatever it is you are meant to do in this lifetime. Build a skyscraper, build a family, paint a picture, write books, master Zen buddhism, really enjoy your work, start a business. Whatever it is - it won't happen unless you take action.

Blessings.
