Just a note

I know - my last post was slightly out of character - here I am fundraising all of a sudden?

The thing is, my son has diabetes and it's a tough disease. Here's this little body that you brought into the world - and as a parent you're protective, you do everything you can to make everything right and one day you wake up and your child is diagnosed with an incurable disease. It's that simple. Yes, he can live with diabetes, but he is an 8 year old who believes that life equals pain, and that God doesn't love him. That's a heavy load for such a little guy to carry and to have to process. We honor it as a blessing, but it's not easy.

There is a cure in sight and that's why I posted the fundraising ask. I will only post it once, and I just wanted to give some insight.

My son is a cool guy - he's got the biggest heart imaginable, he's very talented, a bucket of fun, super smart - and he has diabetes. Our dream is that one day he won't need needles, insulin, monitors and a huge assortment of other things in every waking step. My dream is that my little kid won't have to keep poking himself with needles 10 times a day for the rest of his life, or even very many more years. A cure is close for diabetes. Researchers are working on many different solutions.

So - if you can give, please do. If you can't, send a prayer and pass it along to someone who can give. And thank you from a kid with a huge heart and his mom.

Blessings.
- Darshan
