Surrender and Presence

There is something to be said for recognizing that we are not the creators of the universe - that there is, quite outside of ourselves, a natural order and harmony outside of our control. It is, of course, a natural order and harmony that we can completely step into and flow with (a destiny step), or one that we can crash around against, jump into and try very hard to disturb (that would be our illusion of control).

It's a fine balance. You have to know what you want in life, you have to seek out your highest good and challenge yourself to that highest good always, but then you have to surrender and recognize that everything that is given to you is out for your highest good. The fight against it ("no, it has to be the way *I* want it to be") is just a futile effort at control in the face of fear.

Whatever it is that brought you here today is what can take you to your highest destiny. Surrender is a must; ego is useless; and humility can go a long way. Ascertain what it is you really, really, really want and then stand out of your own way. The Universe provides us with the path, the tools and, if we're tuned in, the insight, to understand that every piece of life we encounter is a part of the whole to where we are going. All we can do is surrender and be present.
