Resistance Reminder

Today as my world shifts and changes, and I struggle against feelings of not having quite succeeded at what I am most passionate about, I recognize the need to accept that all of life is what brings us forward to the place we need to be. I can sit back in deep judgment that this action, or this job, or that behavior is not how I saw getting from point A to point B, but it is just a stark reminder that resistance is futile.

If we cannot see that this very moment, in its entirety, is the means and method for the present to eventually become tomorrow, we sit in a place of resisting the present totally. Who says we know best anyway? This step backwards might be what saves our life today, so that there is even a tomorrow. That step to the side might show us something of vast and enduring beauty that moves us in such a way as to unlock the passion in a way we might not have done otherwise. Who are we to say?

What is to be gotten from resistance? What if, on the other hand, we resisted that step backward, we simply refused it, and it didn't save our life,or we never saw that piece of magnificence and went stoically about our business and never touched our passion?

Today as my world shifts and changes, and a part of me wants to scream out - "No, no, this is not how I wanted to do things," I feel blessed to remember that it is, indeed, all practice to getting there. I acknowledge the incredible gift of the day and thank the heavens for the reminder to blow off the resistance completely, and embrace it with love instead.

Blessings.
