Betrayal of the self

Life calls to us to dance and we answer, "If only I knew how." Life calls to us to love deeply and we bring forth only excuses; we say, I am too busy," or "I have not found the right person." Life calls to us to blossom forth with our passion, and we hold back, with a myriad of reasons, but in the end it is only fear which has held us spellbound, petrified, paralyzed.

And yet, is this not the betrayal of the self? Could we not have lived our passion, if we had only done it? Could we not have loved deeply, if only we had loved deeply? Could we not have danced without knowing the steps someone else does, could we not have danced if only we had simply danced? Of course we could have.

Life changes with such swiftness that it takes our breath away. One day things are normal and the next they have changed so that nothing will ever be the same again. We have all witnessed this phenomenon, been knocked out by it, bowled over.

These life-changing incidences are the evidence that life calls. Today. Now. With fervor, with gusto, with arms open wide. Answer yes! Betray not your self with excuses - dance today, love today, live your passion today.

Bessings.
