Our Superpower

As Byron Katie tells us, either you are arguing with this moment or living this moment - there really isn't any inbetween. Arguing the moment is filled with things like - it should be different, I wish it was different, you should be different, I should be different, and on and on and on (you know the thoughts!!). And living in the moment...isn't. Living in the moment is a grace which happily takes whatever is happening. Oh it's raining, oh it's sunny, oh it's loud, oh, it's quiet. Whatever is happening is happening and you aren't arguing with it.

And those arguments, by the way, are totally useless. If it is raining outside, of what use are the thoughts wishing it away, complaining about how dismal it is, or anger that your plans went awry?

Choice is still and ever our superpower. If we truly don't like the rain, we can choose to live in a place where it rarely rains. Or we can always have a Plan B just in case it rains. If we truly can't stand this or that, we can choose to do something else.

If only we could remember that superpower and stop arguing!! How much of life would we stop missing!

Because this moment really is too amazing to spend your time arguing with the reality of it. As Katie says all that arguing is like saying to God, "This shouldn't be happening. I shouldn't have to experience this. God is unjust. Life isn't fair." And is that really true? When we remember our superpower we remember that we are the ones making choices. We are experiencing things because we arranged it that way AND we have the superpower to change what we are experiencing. No reason to argue with what is. We can either love it or change it.

Blessings.
