So life hands you a lemon. In this exact moment you can feel overwhelmed by it, or choose, instead, to feel trust and confidence that somehow things will work out. So life hands you a bill you can't pay, a job you can't handle, a break up you didn't want, an unexpected layoff, a.... In this exact moment you can feel overwhelm, anger, frustration or fear about it...or you can relax and have faith that the Universe will somehow take care of it.
Life is going to hand you whatever it hands you and your reaction to it is of supreme indifference to life. But for you it is VERY important. For you it decides your mental, emotional and spiritual state and well-being. For you it decides whether you will deal with it with ease and grace or whether you will fight and struggle and cry your way through it.
And for you it decides who you are - are you the person who deals with life in overwhelm (or anger, or frustration, or fear) or are you the person who takes life for what it is and makes something out of it?
The Overwhelm Overture is very concerning. Trust does not mean casually laying back and doing nothing, but overwhelm does not mean things will happen either. Overwhelm sets the precedence for disaster, for things not working out, for things being very difficult.
Who needs that? If you feel like perhaps you don't, consider your options when things happen. Take a moment, gather your wits about you, take a deep breath and feel what you feel (then let it go) and decide - consciously - whether you want to respond with an overwhelming feeling of overwhelm or whether you want to trust yourself and know that no matter what you will come through it?
Blessings.
