What if... what if nothing at stood in your way, no obstacles, no barriers, no hindrances, what if no one, nothing and no circumstance stood in the way to you doing exactly what you wanted in life...what would you do?
Here it is - the question of all questions and there is nothing to hold you back, so no excuses, and what do you want to do?
This week is a great opportunity to meditate on the upcoming year. It's a great time to look at where you are in your life and assessing how happy you are feeling with life. And it's a great time to ring in change if change is needed.
The thing is, we spend an awful lot of time describing all the reasons why things can't be different (the way we want them to be) and these hold us back from actually attaining our birthright, happiness. If we can first imagine what life could be like, without all those reasons why it can't be that way, we are giving ourselves the opportunity to create the life we want. This does not override the need for constant, consistent gratitude - nothing does. Gratitude is like a daily sustenance and we need it, like we need water. But we also need to learn to let go of the mental blocks that stop us from reaching towards change.
Try this:
1. Look at this question - what would you do.
2. Look at your life now and compare it to what you would do. Look at the differences and the changes that would be necessary.
3. Look at all the reasons (yes, and excuses). Just look at them without guilt, shame, judgment or anything else - just recognize and acknowledge them.
4. See if you can visualize the situation as if they weren't there. See if you can visualize them disintegrating, or you finding a path around them, or... letting them go completely.
5. Look at what you would like to do and see if you can find the inspiration to make a path to it that would go around or dissolve those obstacles that you have seen as truth, and see if you can create a different truth.
Life is an array of endless opportunities and the most important component of those opportunities is your choices. This week, while the old year is finding its way out the door and the new year is finding its way in, you are free to dream and map out the future of your own happiness. Go for it!
Blessings.
