What you do is what you are

You are what you do. It's all good and well to have suave words about things, but your actions are what always tell the truth about who you really are. I write alot about being who you really are and it is super important - for exactly this reason. If you are going out there in life and doing alot of inappropriate things while spouting alot of smooth talking, you are showing parts of yourself you are not very conscious about. It is an opportunity for growth of the best kind.

Once I saw a bunch of people around a spiritual teacher and I thought, "What are all these people doing here? They're horrible! They act atrotiously! Their manners are worse! How can they be spending time with a 'spiritual master'?" And a good friend of mine explained. He said that being around a spiritual teacher brings up all the stuff in your subconscious that you really need to work on. It's like in any wound, all the bad stuff heads for the opening so your body can be rid of it. The teacher was acting as a catalyst for the icky yucky stuff to come out so that these peopley could let it go, get rid of it, be better people.

In today's world it's hard to come by spiritual master's like that, but in the Aquarian Age our own consciousness can serve as that teacher. By objectively watching our actions and behavior (and the outcomes!) and listening to our own words, we can begin to see the parts of ourselves that are most out of synch and need the most work. We can feel all that icky yucky stuff under the surface and it's a great opportunity to bring it up, get it out and let go of it for good.

Your actions speak louder than any words - they shout to the world everything about you - all your issues, all your underlying fears and agendas, all your hang-ups, anxiety - all of it. It's as if your actions reate a huge billboard that literally shouts out to the world who you are. There is nothing covert and nothing hidden.

If you love yourself, learning to look at that billboard is the daily golden opportunity of a lifetime. Instead of beating yourself up, a little humor can go a long way. Take small steps and learn to synchronize your words (which represent your loftier ideals) and your actions. It's worth it!

Blessings.
