It's so funny how we hold on so tightly to our little mannerisms, to our habits, to our comfortable ways, and yet on the other hand we are busy seeking happiness. If the things we are doing were bringing us happiness, we would have no cause to look further. Those things we hold on to so tightly - they aren't bringing us happiness and we are seeking it in other ways. Well then, time to let go of what isn't working.
We hold on to patterns and habits because they are comfortable, because we know them, and because the unknown always produces that jittery, frightening, even terrifying feeling of not being in control. We say things like, "I'll do this, but I won't give up my....", or "I'll do that, but just for 30 days..." or (this is the worst) "I'll try..."
Drop the fear about letting go of the things that don't work for you. If you aren't happy - they aren't working. f you are going to do something, do it. Commit to it fully. Commit to your happiness. Agree to succeed, instead of agreeing to try. Be willing to let go of what you know, because you are secure in the knowledge that it isn't making you happy; and because you are willing to claim and accept happiness in your life by doing something different.
Blessings.
