Darkness brings with it a silence foreign to the day. It is the deep, pulsing, undulating silence of the cosmos which offers itself to counsel and console us, to give us rest and bring us peace.
As humans we like to cover up the darkness, but there is something to be said for pure darkness. The night is more complete without city lights, stars shine brighter when the moon is absent, and the darkness can be cleansing and powerful.
Open your arms and welcome it with a grateful heart for its knowledge is as priceless and Infinite as that of the sun. They are two views of the same thing. This is the counsel of night. Because most powerfully, it reminds us that we are what we are seeking, that there is nothing outside of us that is not also within.
