This Too Shall Pass

This, too, shall pass. We often use this phrase in tough times, when we are dealing with situations that test us beyond what we feel we can endure - and goodness knows there is enough of that in life. But in fact, all things pass. Good times, merry times, close times, empty times, lonely times, hard times, each moment.

The celebration of the New Year somehow always brings to the forefront the transition of time - we notice it more, but in fact, every day is a new beginning, the first moment of the rest of life, and this moment, too, shall pass. Every day is a day we should be holding up the image of our vision and reconciling our lives to it - not just on New Year's Eve. Every day is a day when we can give thanks, immerse ourselves in gratitude for what we are, what we have, and all the things life holds for us. The moments we miss doing that are gone, and we can't bring them back. The moments we miss by not being present pass too, never to be retrieved, no second chances.

Today, now, this moment, this, too shall pass. Embrace it, love it, live it. Take a twirl on the dance floor with life, because all too soon, this moment, too, shall pass and you will have wanted to get everything possible out of it.

Blessings.
