Everyday there are a myriad of choices to be made, but IMHO the biggest and most important choice we have to make is whether to settle for good or ok rather than greatness in ourselves and all others.
Sure good is - - good. "Good is the enemy of great." We settle for so much less than we are and can be. Why? Because it's easy? Because it's the known, the norm, it's not scary or frightening and we know the outcome?
It is settling for just good (or even just ok) that produces the incredible anger so visibly seething everywhere. It produces a frustrated, unvented desire mixed with hopelessness and helplessness that can't really lead to anything but anger. But it's not necessary.
Reaching for greatness doesn't mean you have to be a Mozart or a Rembrandt. You don't have to be Madonna, or Pink Floyd or a famous movie star or anything. Stepping into greatness is embracing your destiny and living your highest possible potential. You will know if you have done that by whether or not you are 100% present and happy about your life. If you are yearning, frustrated, upset, angry or otherwise unhappy - time to re-think.
Everyday we have this myriad of choices to make, but the choice between good and great is perhaps the biggest your will ever invest your time and energy into. Why settle for mediocre, when you can allow the full beauty of your being to shine, and thus make a vast imprint on the planet.
Think about it. And then, choose well.
Blessings.
