We all have a "black voice," a voice that speaks in varying degrees of loudness within each of us, saying everything contrary, "You're bad. It'll never work. You're not worthy. Your work sucks. You're boring. ..." and everyone listens to that voice in varying degrees. The most successful people have found some way to let their "true self voices" speak louder. Here are some ways to do that...
1. The power of your own voice on your psyche is phenomenal. Make a tape of the positive aspects. Set it to music, and play it 24/7, especially when you are sleeping so that you can take it in subliminally. This also works with positive affirmations.
2. Treat the "black voice" like a Bogart and use the appropriate technique to get rid of them. You imagine them in the most outrageous setting/costume etc, point your wand and shout "Ridikkulus." This is a truly fine tactic for us muggles as well. Let the voice talk - but dress it up in something totally silly, let it's voice get squeaky (like with helium) or deep and slow (like a cassette player on slow mode) - make it funny, and laugh at it. Or set it in the corner on a stool, turn it's face to the corner, and let it keep talking while you go about your business.
The point is - we all have this ugly little voice inside of ourselves, but it is a choice about whether or not we are going to allow it to affect us. The more consciously aware we become about the voice, the more able we are to consciously choose not to listen to it, and to develop a more positive voice that is far louder and more penetrating.
Accentuate the positive and the negative will eventually fall away. Try it.
Blessings.
